Growing Notes
Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost or direct sow after danger of frost has passed. Dahlias thrive in full sun with well-drained soil and regular watering. Plants grown from seed will flower in their first season and can be lifted and stored as tubers in colder climates. In my personal garden (zone 8b), dahlia seedlings are planted out the May long weekend and produce flowers from July - October.
